GMS Cheer Clinics will be Aug. 9th-10th from 3-5:30/Try-Outs will be Aug. 11th 3-6:30. At Grant Middle School. Please be on time and ready. Each day is mandatory. If you miss a day, you will be disqualified to try-outs. The applications will be in the secretaries offices on Monday. You are welcome to hand them back in at the school or bring them to Clinics. No one will be allowed to enter try-outs with out this application. Good luck to each candidate trying out. Baseball practice has been cancelled today due to weather.

Boys basketball open gym has been cancelled this week (July 31-Aug 4) for the gym to be waxed.

Please remember that ALL students must be registered online each year. GMS requires updated proofs of residency as well for ALL students- even those who are returning. Please use the photo upload during registration to complete this or bring proofs in to the guidance office. If you have moved out of GMS school boundaries, you will need to apply for a transfer- this can also be done on the district website. Registration at the school will be held on Monday, August 7 from 11am-6pm and Tuesday, August 8 from 8am-2pm.

Calling all incoming 6th graders!! 📢📢 Incoming 6th grade students are invited to attend a 6th grade orientation at their home school on Thursday, August 10th, from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Students will engage in activities, tour the school and learn more about their upcoming middle school experience. Please note that bus routes will be running that day as well.

Due to the power outage, the Administrative Office is closed. If you need immediate assistance, please contact the Business Office at 217-525-3040. We expect to resume normal operations Monday, July 3.

All summer school programs and SCOPE are canceled Friday, June 30, to allow maintenance staff to assess and clean up buildings and grounds. We expect all programs to resume next week as normally scheduled.

All students and staff in summer programs are safe. Buses will run at the normal time, but routes may take longer due to traffic or blocked streets. Families are welcome to pick up students early. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority.

Grant 8th Grade Promotion ceremony is tomorrow ( 6/1/23) @ 9:00 in the Grant Gym. Parents, you may enter the building at 8:15; no reserved seats exist. Parents, family, and guests must go through the metal detectors as this is a regular school day. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding. Students are still at school and currently waiting for a bus to come pick them up. They should be home shortly.

Tomorrow is our first day of Unsung hero spirit week: The theme tomorrow is superhero day. The cost is $2 and beta members will be around during AP to collect money. All money raised will go towards the security guards favorite charities; Boys and Girls Club, Primed for Life and National Kidney Foundation of Illinois.

Mandatory Track Parent Meeting: please join us tonight, Mach 28, at 5:30 in the GMS gym. Please bring athletic forms, physicals and the $60 athletic fee. We look forward to seeing you tonight.
